I thought that that was obvious. But I guess not.
Yeah, he can do a few gadget running plays per game, and do them well.
But he is NOT a typical 20-25 carries RB by any means.
If Gurley goes down, Tavon is NOT the answer.
Thus, my attempt at humor.
Not as funny when I have to explain it like that. Sigh...
43, with all due respect, has anyone claimed he is a 20-25 yard RB?
I know a lot of guys like me point out he's a hybrid player, and not a pure receiver. He was productive in 2015 running the ball, catching the ball, and being a decoy. Those who tend not to value that call it being a "gadget" player, which to me is just a dismissive-toned way of acknowledging that he's a hybrid, multiple weapon who if used right is productive.
And btw I was saying that's what he was BEFORE they drafted him, and I advocated drafting him.
However, it is true that if McVay doesn't want the 2015 guy but instead needs a pure receiver, Tavon is probably not his guy. Which is fine, that's not a complaint....McVay didnt draft him. Given that if McVay needs Tavon to adapt to him instead of McVay adapting to Tavon, then, so it goes.
