first, anyone can look at the list of free agents (and draftees) and gauge who could potentially be obtained if you have 16m to spend (along with all your other needs). if you dont think that wade and the rest of the staff did so, then you must think none of them deserve a job. its one of the first steps in assessing whether to franchise a player. second, i can make an educated guess that wade felt paying 16m for 1 year for tru was better any other option on the roster (or off) because it actually happened.

I just heard players on ESPN saying the exact same thing, it was stupid, now they would have invested serious money in him just to see him walk.
