An NFL players career can be over in a blink, I wouldn't like it either.

A one year franchise at $16M vs a 4-5 year deal with $25-$30M guranteed is a prodigious difference.

Plus it takes away a players leverage.

I would HATE it as a player.

Tru basically just got two years and about $30 million guarantee.....not a bad deal.

They had that option with the franchise tag and should have done it especially IF they're not even sure he fits the defense.

Just stoooopid handling of a marginal player.

Yes when Tru leaves the Rams get nothing. However, Tru had better do far better this season performance wise or the big money deal is not coming his way.
