Somehow, some way, the Rams have to give AD his big contract extension while at the same time leaving cap room for other needed contributors.
Perhaps $18-20 million per for 5 years with $60 million guaranteed, as dz and I suggest?

This is true, but the Rams could control his rights for the next 5 years if they wanted to by using the final two years of his contract and three years of franchise tags....that's the leverage the Rams hold over him at the moment and why if he wants to get paid now, he's going to have to compromise.
6 years $100 mil with $50 million guaranteed for a DT with two years left on rookie contract would be a sweet deal if he could get it under those circumstances imo.
