I tend to think the hit on Donald to the degree he is a potential HOF makes up for the bust of G. Rob and as one poster said there is a high of degree of failure with most picks.
Number two overall is a great spot but never a guaranteed all pro.
Robinson was ovehyped but he wasn't hyped to the degree of say Tony Mandarich so I think it less a blow than that all time all league bust pick.
There is also a becueaux amount of mediocre or moderate success even in first and second round picks in history with any team.
There is a great rarity in players like Donald competing at the apex of his position in the league at a level receiving HOF acclaim starting from his rookie season going 4 ~5 years in.
You could bust three picks in the same draft and make up for it with a Donald acquisition..
We got a hope diamond in Aaron and a 330 pound tuna that spoiled with those two round one casts that year.
At the the end of the day I'm still fine .
We still have the diamond so I can't see anything but an advantageous overall result historically.
We got a record catch that day with that one player.
Donald is Probably the best pure talent with best production we've drafted since Dickerson.
That's more than a wash. ..
LoL..
Thanks for your time.
