Would Groy be an upgrade over Barnes? That's what it's all about, period. Barnes was a try-hard player but in the end probably among the bottom 20% tier of starting centers in the league. He was rated by PFF 31st out of 38 qualifying centers while they had Groy 23rd.

If Groy could be more middle-of-the-pack while Whitworth upgrades the LT spot and they straighten out Havenstein and Brown then the unit as a whole could be noticeably better in 2017 and 2018.
