Actually, he went from UDFA to making the Bears practice squad, to being promoted and starting three games as a rookie. The Patriots thought enough of him to trade for him, so he wasn't a "cast off" from the Bears. But, he was injured in preseason and waived injured. And then, he has gone and made his mark with the Bills.
Still young, on the rise and very affordable. Always has been an exceptionally reliable, smart, hard working player with the size and strength you want coming from a school and program that turns out good ones.
This is the anti-Fisher philosophy continuing, and it's fantastic! Though, known to put some to sleep.
