Can a team say that they're willing to trade for TruJo if they can come to terms on a long term deal with TruJo before the trade is completed? If so would the Rams have to do a sign-and-trade before trading him? Or would they just trade TruJo under the franchise tag and then his new team would just complete the long term deal?
It would certainly make it easier to trade TruJo if his new team knew that they would have him for 4 or 5 years. it would also make him more valuable (as in a 2nd rounder).
