I think Demoff sees the cap differently. And is willing to absorb a one time expense to lessen the burden on the team trying to add talent. At the same time, other than the Tavon Austin contract, I don't think he's generally interested in overpaying.
As far as TA goes, IMO, this needs to be his breakout year. If McVay and company can't get him going then something needs to change.
I don't necessarily agree with signing Johnson. Like you and others, I would have preferred to have spread that money out and definitely get a FEW OL. But your probably going to be overpaying there too so... maybe its like choosing between two poor options.
IMO Johnson is getting nearly twice as much as he is worth to the team... now market value it might be over $10 million. Either way no where close to over to $16 million. That's just crazy.
