Kroenke is gonna make a ton of money with the Chargers moving into his palace. I'm sure that is a very high priority for him. Certainly, he wants the Rams to win but is he driven to that end? Well, based on how he's running his FO it's very questionable. He's left Demoff in charge of making the high level football decisions. And we're talking about a guy with zero football knowledge. A guy who has acknowledged that there was failure in the FO and yet has done nothing to change it.

Look at the FO support structure for McVay. Does it strike anyone as a competent football operations group? These are all the same people who have demonstrated nothing but losing for as long as Kroenke has been owner and possibly before that.

If Kroenke really had winning as his top priority he would have ensured that he made the necessary changes in the FO. Instead he left it to his glorified gofer, Demoff, a finance guy who is better suited to giving stadium presentations to the city planners and his daughters prep school.

McVay has yet to show up in Mobile, ALA. it's all Snead and his crackerjack scouting department at the SENIOR BOWL. So it looks like business as usual for the Rams personnel dept. Gary Klein said Snead told him that he would collaborate with McVay in running the draft. That tells me Snead is running the show now cause McVay is gonna be swimming in so many other things and Snead is the only other guy with any football knowledge to do anything.

IMO, this FO is a joke.

I have a different take, max.

TBH, I wanted them to hire a strong and experienced GM type such as Reggie McKenzie. And give him complete authority. But, clearly, they went in a different direction.

But to call this organization a joke is a bit too far, if you ask me.

Here's my brief summary:

Demoff has few peers in cap management and PR. He will apparently have zero involvement in personnel matters now that Snead and McVay are on board.

Snead has been determined to be adept at talent eval and was apparently handicapped by Fisher's veto power for the last 5 years. Not on every pick, trade, and FA, of course. No one is perfect. But apparently Demoff had sufficient evidence as an insider observer to realize that Fisher was the weak link in personnel decision matters. Doesn't surprise me one bit, btw. If so, then it seems reasonable to assume that we can expect even more hits with the Snead driven future selections.

I like the McVay selection. I mean, a LOT. Not worried about his age, because of his maturity. And he seems to have "it" when it comes to developing his players. I predict that he will be considered a steal within a year or two.

Just a word about the Mobile thing. McVay needs to concentrate on finishing the hiring process for his staff. He and Snead have surely had their conversations about the type of players that McVay wants. Now let Snead find them and pick them. IOW, it should be Snead's call from here on out. So, to me, that's not dysfunctional. That's working smart.

Let's see...

Smart COO in Demoff that stays out of personnel matters.
Smart talent evaluator in Snead that has final say on personnel matters.
A promising young HC that has impressed everybody that he has come into contact with.

This group hardly looks like a joke to me.
