Kendricks caught 50 passes yet he had a rough year. He's always been durable (played 93 of 96 games in 6 years) and I thought he was a good blocker as a #2 TE behind Cook the past several years. His blocking really declined this year and so I wonder how much his effort declined. To me blocking from TEs and WRs is a lot about simply effort. And Kendricks is one of those that said after the last game he needed a coach that "would motivate him." Not what you want to hear from one of your most tenured players.
His catch percentage this year (57.5%) was also the lowest it's been since his rookie year. It had been 68.4% over the past 4 years. That's a difference of (what could have been) 59 vs. 50 catches this year. It adds up.
I don't think he's worth $4.25M in 2017 either.
