Manipuraram- Great observation. I was at the game also. The Rams offense was pathetic, especially the line. Poor Goff had no time to throw the ball. The Cardinals defense was in the backfield immediately to disrupt Goff's ability to throw. He was constantly harassed all game. The line just couldn't pass block. The running game didn't fair any better. Gurley suffered the same fate. By the time he got the handoff, the defense was already penetrating through their gap shutting down Gurley's running lane. The line couldn't drive block and the 2 and 4 holes were never opened. For some reason, the Rams like running dives through the 2 or 4 holes for Gurley, but their center, right guard, and right tackle are unable to drive block to create any openings for those holes. The Cardinals were constantly stuffing Gurley as soon as he got the handoff. Tough to run and pass with the inability to pass and drive block. On defense, the Rams did a pretty good job with their run defense. They struggled with the pass. Palmer had too much time to throw. The front four struggled with the pass rush. Coverage defense was pathetic. They gave the receivers too much cushion or space. Palmer carved up our DB's, linebackers, and safeties. He threw over and in between the Rams pathetic zone soft coverage. Time and time again, the Rams had the opportunity to stop the Cardinals on numerous 3rd and long downs, but were unable to stop Palmer and the Cardinals receivers from making a first down. It seemed the Rams are afraid to play tight man to man coverage and it was demonstrated today. The Cardinals defense had no respect or fear for the Rams offense and the Cardinals offense knew the Rams pass defense is their weak link. On a side note, Hekkar is a stud. Great leg and he was their MVP. My family had a great time at the game even with the loss. I'm just glad they are back home in LA. I'm looking forward with the off season changes to make our team better for next year.
