As if just drafting and developing Jenkins was a positive for Snead whether he was playing for us anymore or not. You can't just draft and develop good players and then let them walk to be a good GM. You have to retain the right guys. They chose to pay Foles and retain Tavon over keeping Jenkins. You cannot make mistakes like that.
I suspect that you may be wrongly laying the Jenkins departure at the feet of Snead, promo.
Fisher had final say on personnel decisions, certainly including whether to keep Jenkins as a FA, or not.
And Demoff and his staff does all the contract negotiations. So if JJ was "insulted", we should be looking in Demoff's direction, shouldn't we?
Snead has been little more than a glorified Director of Player Personnel throughout the Fisher regime. Yet he still catches flak for coaching and contract shortcomings. Hardly seems fair to me.
Besides, I think Les nailed it when he said that the premium FA's are gonna auction themselves off to the highest bidder while taking full advantage of the current cap bonanza. We might as well get used to it.
