My guess - and it's a total guess, obviously - is that he denied knowledge of it simply because the main point he was trying to make was that he is thinking about coaching, he is thinking about football, and not being distracted by all this gathering mob outside the gate. So he told a stretcher to emphasize that. I really don't think it is anything more than that.

Fisher just acts calm and cool and professional all the time. He's not a newbie to this stuff, and I doubt he is scared, and I doubt he thinks throwing Snead under the bus is beneficial. Fisher isn't going to play games in the media. I just don't think that's in character for him myself. I really think the fans are working themselves up in a tizzy because they are sick and tired of losing. I'm sick of it, too. And I am in the agnostic crowd when it comes to Fisher. I am not going to be happy if he is fired, and I am not going to be happy if he is kept around. What will make me happy is the Rams winning, and I don't think Fisher is the problem. Sometimes ya just need to hit the reset button. Okay, fine. But I don't think that's going to happen this year, and I don't think any of these gnashing articles actually add up to anything. They are simply fueling the fire of fan resentment. That's the way I see it.
