Rodgers had a hof qb starting ahead of the rookie qb. and Rams are playing a backup at qb ahead of Goff...no future in that
and just no time....there can't be 2/3 year plans..rookie sits 1st year, plays poorly 2nd and 3rd becomes a solid starter...1/2 of the team will be gone by year 4....unless you like losing
bad teams drafts good rookie qb, bad team plays rookie qb, bad team becomes good team

But both approaches have worked. That's not me "saying it," it's demonstrated by all of NFL history.
In recent years, several teams picking high in the draft have started rookie qbs from day 1 largely because they are in rebuilding mode and have nothing to lose by doing it, and therefore have no problem accepting the losses which, the vast majority of the time, come with starting rookie qbs.
