I mean you are now on a first name basis with him.

When you see him, tell him that it's 2016...

You should talk to him yourself. His response would I think be along these lines---of the bottom 10 teams in passing play percentage in 2015, 6 were in the playoffs. If you look at the bottom half of the league in terms of passing play percentage (16 teams obviously) 10 were in the playoffs. Yes teams in general pass more compared to prior decades, but then, within that framework, that also led to a league that countered with focusing on the pass rush, so now (with some rare exceptions) if you can't run the ball you're in trouble.

.

Then why go all in selling the farm and draft a QB
Still waiting for an answer

Go rams!

They're thinking Big Picture and Long Term, dodger.

That's the short answer. They see a 15 year franchise QB in Goff, once he gets his feet on the ground.

Lots of playoff games.

Maybe a SB, or two.

Such things are worth a lot of draft picks for a team already on the cusp. That's my take, anyway.

So you think Fisher thinks Goff is the next MOntana, Brady, Favre, Peyton, Rodgers etc. type of QB ?
IMHO if Fisher thinks that he is worse than I ever feared when it comes to offense in general and QB in particular.

I can understand that reasoning but if it is really so Fisher deliberately threw away a (better) shot at winning now. he said CK is good enough to win now and with the help of the draft picks dealt away this team could have been even considerably better than now .

And that is my beef with Fisher and Snead here: Gambling on a huge deal MAYBE coming up roses somewhere in the distant future instead of going for the more likely success in the presence and now.

Goff by unanimous expert assumptions never was in the same class as the aforementioned QBs. Not even in the Newton or Luck or Winston or Mariota or Stafford class.
Heck he not even was as highly touted as the QB whose name is a forbidden word on this message board.
Simply put: You do not sell the farm for a guy like that when by your own words your team is close in the present and NOW.
That is the recipe of losers. What Fisher and Snead have been ever since they taken over the Rams.

Go Rams!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Where to start, dodger? Lol.

1) S&F didn't need to think that Goff was in the elite of the elite QB category to justify the trade, dodger. Classic strawman argument. They just needed "franchise QB" level. And I think all pundits universally felt that both Goff and Wentz were at that level.

2) I think that Fisher thought that the chances of "winning now" were greater if he had BOTH Goff and Keenum in '16 than if he kept the picks and just rolled with Keenum. Who wouldn't agree with that, btw? QB position was standing between the Rams and the playoffs.

3). This was a decision for the '16 season, not the "distant future" as you suggest. That's your 3rd straw man.

4) To say that because Goff wasn't considered to be the equal of HOF QB's that you named meant that he wasn't worth the trade is a repeat of your first strawman argument. The Rams WERE close, personnel wise, but for a good QB. A quality starting QB for the next 15 years IS worth a lot of premium picks. Didn't need a HOF'er. They were unlikely to have such a QB fall to them in the near future while drafting in the 15-20 range year after year. Now they seem to have one. A bold move, sure. But one that I think was justified. Hardly a recipe of losers.

Well 43, let's leave it at that we completely disagree on just about all facets of the situation
One last thing though: losers they are , for 4 straight years running
The benefit of doubt they not have earned. Yet.

Go rams!
