I have not settled all my beefs with Jeff but I have enough respect now for him to not demand he be fired but to believe he is committed to winning football and the job is and should be his to lose.
I think his handling of Geoff is typical of his OS approach. The key is he must win in the interim and Geoff must continue to be developed deliberately and with the purpose to get him on the field as soon as possible. I have no doubts about the kid even with his PS stats.
Jeff has to have the Run game at peak and productive ala John Robinson's squads.
Keenum may have upside and this first game will prove him if he was enough for us to ignore more talented offseason veteran options. Does he have to win? I think so if fans will be pacified. Even his best performances last year will have to be his floor or it will not be successful.
I think the WR disorganization is the most concerning. UDFA making team with minimal live success and unproductive vet getting extensions and making team on a wish and a prayer leaves a bit to be desired. But let me not pretend that unproven vet is anyone other than Brian Quick a former favorite of my support but after injuries My confidence and expectations are vapor. Only my well wishes for a miraculous turn around remain.
Next the offense has to be more clutch and poised. OL has to avoid penalties.
I think I can be patient to wait for a real game tape to decide how much I like our chances and this teams roster but I sorta decided to put it on Jeff to answer for and I can only cheer them on so far and that is my excitement and where I am finding the peace.
I am not worrying about a replacement HC or going 5-11 or 11-5 just anxious to see the LA Rams playing under the banner that I fell in love with 45 years ago.
