You should talk to him yourself. His response would I think be along these lines---of the bottom 10 teams in passing play percentage in 2015, 6 were in the playoffs. If you look at the bottom half of the league in terms of passing play percentage (16 teams obviously) 10 were in the playoffs. Yes teams in general pass more compared to prior decades, but then, within that framework, that also led to a league that countered with focusing on the pass rush, so now (with some rare exceptions) if you can't run the ball you're in trouble.
This idea that the Rams offense is "simple" will not stand up to scrutiny. Rams qbs call protections, audible, and have to account for sight adjustments. The main reason Goff is still not up to starter's level yet is because he is in the process of learning all that.
