If Goff was really the transcendent talent worthy of what they gave up to get him, you should expect him to be doing the kinds of things those players do. Like Russell Wilson, for example, did when he forced his way into starting game one as a rookie over Matt Flynn and Tarvaris Jackson. At least like Winston and Mariota did last year in overcoming similarly weak competition.
If it's true that Goff is still not close to winning the job, that's disturbing news indeed. Shouldn't be dismissed so cavalierly as "everything is fine because we've seen some things we like." That's mostly just confirmation bias at work. There's no escaping a reality that the regime that put it all on the line for him still thinks Case Keenum is their best QB four months, a training camp and three preseason games later.
It's really no surprise to me that he's not ready, I didn't expect hm to be.
This better be a play for the long game.
It better be a situation where they're willing to forego immediate gratification for 10-15 years of stability at the position.
This is the kinda play that can get them fired for sure.
