Well, as usual...

we are in agreement on alot of these things my friend.

And I am allowing myself to be very, very cautiously optimistic about our O-Line. But they have teased me so much in the past, it's hard to do. So far, I like what I'm seeing. If they can get it together and be a solid and cohesive group, this team could be very good, regardless of who's taking snaps.

Benny Cunningham is one of my Favorite non-starting, "just get in there and get it done" players on this team. Just love him.

Now to this here:

Quote
Those disappointed that Goff isn't tearing it up and clearly claiming the starting spot already (I have one foot in that camp) will just have to wait. Hollering about it isn't going to change anything. I certainly don't think two preseason games have invalidated the trade or the draft selection.

Contrary to some posts, Goff was NOT billed as pro-ready. He was drafted for certain natural talents.

I agree wholeheartedly with that first part. I'm not really disappointed in where Goff is at in his development. I also think it's early to be down on the kid. My issue "at the time" was giving up so many picks to move up to get him. Just didn't see it. And felt that Paxton Lynch was just as talented, and just as "ready", and would have been available at our pick, and allowing us to keep the rest of our draft picks this year and next to fix positions of need. Just didn't feel that we were one player away from being a playoff caliber team... still don't.

Also, I'm pretty sure the "Pro-Ready" was used in describing Goff and part of the reason to jump up to number one to get him, and that he would be able to step in and start right away. I read it on this board, and read it in some draft reviews. Can't go back and query this board for those posts, but there are articles on on the web. Now a discussion on what constitutes being "Pro-Ready" is more than easy to have. And all of the following can be considered in that term: playing in a Pro-style offense, footwork, arm strength, pocket awareness, accuracy, level of competition, leadership, escapeability, some others... Goff has several of these traits. You can see it. The ones that seem to be hindering him and showing up in camp reports and the first 2 pre-season games are... not having played in a Pro-style offense, not playing under center, and not calling plays in the huddle. Those things are just going to take some time and experience. But so far, there is nothing I've seen that makes me think he won't be successful... just a matter of when.

Cheers brother.
