It's always a tension in preseason between getting looks for everyone, avoiding injuries, and getting your starters ready.
I believe Fisher tends to err on the side of caution, and the Rams frequently aren't ready for the season start.
To get these guys reps together, and not just in camp.
You cannot completely simulate in practice what you'll see from an opposing team.
Its just not the same, so the experience of AO calling the plays, and the guys reacting to one another won't be there.
Its very easy for even a laymen to see
