or Jeff Fisher. He enjoys lying too much anyway.
I'm basing my opinion on what the Rams did and spent to get this guy and how the rest of the league operates. This isn't Tim Couch being drafted onto an expansion team and getting killed because they weren't any good. This is a borderline playoff team with a strong running game and good defense. If you can't put a #1 overall pick QB, especially in this day and age, into the starting lineup then there's a problem.
If that #1 overall pick can't beat out Case Keenum, then there's a problem.
If the coach is choosing to sit the rookie based on the archaic attitude that a rookie must sit and learn, then there's a problem.
Assuming that I'm annoyed by the situation because that's what the media said I should think, is flat out wrong.
Why is that a problem if Fisher wants the kid to learn before throwing him to the wolves???
I want Goff to start too, I'm sure Goff wants to also, but there is nothing wrong with what Fish is doing... They knew going in that Goff would have some learning to do, most of us knew that. He comes from an offense where he didn't even take a snap under center let alone call a play in the huddle....patience grasshopper.
Based on what I've seen in camp and what I've heard from others, the Rams are giving most of the first team reps to Case. It is clear that is who they've intended on starting the year from the jump. So what if "everyone else is doing it"... It's clearly not what the Rams are doing this year. They plan on winning with Case, if he falters, the rookie will get his shot sooner then expected, but I think they plan on winning with Case.
Let's see how it plays out before we panic.
