It may not be the players who are dumb.
I have been on 4 separate TV programs and they record hours upon hours of footage. Then they take out the bits that are the real talking points and edit them.
My sister-in-law was an ex TV host in 2 countries and said you wouldn't believe how they cut it to make interesting TV.
They don't care if somebody looks dumb or smart, they edit for entertainment
HK's will have thousands of hours of footage to date and they are looking for talking points.
The fact that they even dwell on banal family stuff, means there really aren't that many.
Kush looks like he has a narcissistic personality and Hayes looks like he *may* be away with the fairies (or mermaids), but seriously, to judge anything is just silly. TV can make the smartest person look dumb if they have enough footage.
I realize all of that, RamUK. Not that it's the same thing as really doing TV in the real world, but my second degree was in TV/Radio/Communication. We studied how they make all of that stuff happen, and everyone knows how selective they are when they edit.
My point was how this year compared with previous years. Were they selective in the same way, or for the same reasons? From what some here have said, the answer is no. It seems they're going out of their way to make the Rams look dumb, which was my gut reaction to the second episode, especially.
I wasn't replying (or at least not intentionally) to you BT.
Having said that, TV is looking ever more for shock value. Each season of whatever program has to have more of that. So I'm not sure what previous seasons tells us about the Rams, when probably 90% of the roster haven't had more than a tiny snippet on them.
There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so.
