I very much believe that under Fisher and Snead, the talent on this team has been greatly improved. I agree with Jeff that there's too much talent there to be a 7-9 team.

But. It has also just seemed to me over the years, that there's a cockiness, a tendency to be much too pleased with temporary success, that permeates this team. And it may emanate from Fisher.

Last year game two was the crowning example. After a great start beating the Seahawks, in a stirring inspirational effort, we all on this board said "Ok, guys, can we please win two in a row and really get something going? Can we please beat the Redskins, who are nothing special? Please?" (Some idiots like me declared that it was a new day and we weren't going to fail).

Answer: Nope. No, we can't. We can't sustain early determination and effort for two games in a row.

The defensive effort and effectiveness in WA against the run was just flat out embarrassing. The great start to the season was spoiled.

And that was just one example. Then late in the season, once again, they sorta came on and were giving us hope before laying an egg in SF.

It's a pattern. I can't believe in Fisher the playoff coach until the pattern is broken, repeatedly.

I hear you sag, but I put coming out flat more on the players then the coach... They're professionals. They shouldn't need Fisher's pom-pom's to keep them energized. They're a young team and are going to have to learn how to maintain focus on their own.

Like Rusty, I believe Fisher and his "I ain't f----- going 7-9 or 8-8 or 9-7 or even 10-6" speech... The players need to have that mentality and that's what he is trying to get through to them. It's on them, there is too much talent in that room not to.

As far as Tavon playing Pokemon , apart from the fact that anybody over 17 playing Pokemon is ridiculous on so many levels, I didn't mind him having some fun with one of what I assume is one of the coaches kids. Thought that was pretty cool of him and no where near the 7-9 bullsh-t he was speaking of... I don't expect them to lock them selves in their dorms all night.

I dint like the way the show kinda portrayed Goff as a dumb blonde. I do, like yourself, like the way he handled it though.
