In the last several years alone teams win with timely or clutch QB play but with a great run game and nasty defense. AGREED
That will be the Rams formula... I'm still not convinced that we have even begun to know what we have at WR because the QB play has either been unreliable or flat out bad. So who have the wr's been? Britt had 5 years in the league, you don't know what he is? Tavon is not a traditional wr and the others are rookies.
Speed:
Britt while with the Rams has yet to play with a QB capable of getting him the ball taking advantage of his best skill set. Tavon certainly is a deep threat yet with the QBs the Rams have fielded the last three years, rarely have they been able to take advantage of his ability to stretch the field. I don't think we have begun to see either at peek performance and a lot of that is due to poor QB IMO. Although I know I might be in the minority on that (regarding Britt)
At some point the Rams have got to get that part right....but Goff is not going to come in like Warner obviously... But if he can give us some of that red zone clutch that he had in college that will be an awesome start. There is that word CLUTCH again.
Minnesota won the north with a great run game, defense, and a QB that was ok statistically .... That's just one example. There are plenty more in our own division over the years. Why do you change the qb criteria in this example? You don't think the QB had to make a number of CLUTCH plays for Minny to win? I do the Vikings defense wasn't that good, that they could win without them. Do you see what I'm saying here?
Speed:
I felt like Bridegwater was more of don't lose the game QB than clutch QB... That's why I changed it. Although he certainly made a few plays to help them for sure.
Can we just get "ok" play from the QB? I think the passing yards will be less relevant than the points we get from him
The Rams will need far better than OK from the QB to get anywhere near 10 wins or playoff contention. And STATS won't be the determining factor, just the by product.
Speed:
La OK would be such an enormous improvement from what we have had man... I think the Rams could be a 10 win team with OK as in solid QB play for sure
