And not about Goff specifically.... one of the things that seems a bit different these days, (although perhaps it's always like this), is that for the last few years we seem to end our seasons with more questions than before we started.
IMO we have come to firm conclusions very few times, (as firm as possible in the NFL that is)....
The DL... we're good to go. After that? Hmmm.
I wrote recently that if I had to choose which unit I was most intrigued by, that is, have questions about and am anxious to see how they pan out... it was the receivers. I want to change that... not that I'm not still watching the WR's intently.
It's now the LB's... actually, it's Tree.. specifically. I've been impressed with Tree since day one... not an all pro, (yet), but solid. I wasn't much worried about him moving into the middle. But others on this board were worried about it, some VERY nervous about it... his ability to take on blockers. Seemed to me he had the physical talent to do so... but now I'm reading...
Like In Hacksaw's report, was it? That he's getting tied up, not taking on blockers all that well.... just as those who had 'doubts' felt might happen. As a LB kinda guy, (I still believe the LB's the heart of any defense), Goff/Keenum - the WR's - our DB's - I'm following closely but my new #1 worry is Tree. - JamesJM
