Its hard to put an order to these guys just yet. That said, My favorite right now is Manning (I still think he goes back to Texas, but he is draft eligible) followed by Sellars and Klubnik at 2a and 2b, then Nussmeier, Allar, Leavett, Beck and Iamaleava.
Arch Manning - Texas - 6'-4" 225 lbs. - Supposedly runs a 40 in 4.6 which is elite for a QB. He as plenty of natural arm talent the other Mannings have had, but he is a legit dual threat with his legs. He has good mechanics as expected, shows nice touch and from the limited snaps, looks like he can read a defense. He only has a small sample size, so he needs snaps (see, Lance, Trey) and he needs to improve his accuracy.
LaNorris Sellars - South Carolina - 6'-3" 242 lbs. - A serious dual threat with a massive arm, another 4.6 runner in a fullback body. He is a passer first, runner 2nd and has good arm talent, good mechanics and can read a defense. He doesn't have the touch Manning does, its a lot of fastballs right now. He also needs more seasoning. Think Josh Allen with more arm talent coming out of Wyoming.
Cade Klubnik - Clemson - 6'-2" 210 lbs. - He isn't as much a dual threat as the 1st two. But, that said, he has wheels and used them alot more last year than ever before. Think Mahomes or Burrow, he wants to win with his arms, but is effective tucking and running or running to extend plays. Good touch and mechanics, can read a defense. Smaller frame has me concerned at the next level. Needs to take beter care of the football. After last seasons break out, he is a riser on draft boards. Jayden Daniels comes to mind as a comp.
Garrett Nussmeier - LSU - 6'-2" 200 lbs - He's a true pocket passer, he can climb the pocket and can move laterally inside the pocket, but thats about it. His arm talent is his calling card, its very good, he has plenty of arm strength despite his size. I hoe he can add good weight to withstand the NFL beating, and his defense reading and progression work needs improvement. Those guys that like pocket gunslingers will love his tape.
Drew Allar - Penn St. - 6'-4" 240 lbs. - Monster arm with very good arm talent. Good touch, doesn't take a ton of chances with the ball. Can read a defense and go thru progressions. He can get rattled with pressure at times. Those looking for a more classic, old school pocket passer that wins with his head and arm will like this guy.
Sam Leavett - Arizona St. - 6'-0" 200 lbs. - He's a mobile pocket passer that has plenty of arm talent and doesn't throw a ton of bad balls. He is smart with his decision making, so I believe he can read a defense. He can extend plays with his legs but is looking to throw. His slight frame is a concern. He only has 17 starts so is raw. Not the biggest arm.
Carson Beck - Miami (formerly Georgia) - 6'-4" 220 lbs. - A proto pocket passer with the requisite arm strength, ability to read a defense and accuracy to succeed in the NFL. He had a down year last year and I wish he was more mobile. For those that like Jared Goff, this is your guy.
Nico Iamaleava - UCLA (fromerly Tenn.) - 6'-6" 215 lbs. - A bigger framed mobile pocket QB. Big arm, excellent arm talent and can beat you with his leg. Raw with a frame that needs good weight and again needs seasoning. This NIL debacle has slide him down the list for me, it shows either a massive ego or poor judgement or bad people around hm. Or all 3. They are all red flags.
So the theme of this class is: needs seasoning, needs to keep improving, or needs to grow into an NFL body. My #4 Allar would have had a 1st round grade this year, hadhe come out. So it looks like a stacked class, with or without Manning. Now, its up to them to live to the hype.
