What coach or GM has ever said "We wanted xx player but he wasn't there so we took our 2nd choice in xx player?"
No one wants to come into an organization as a "bridesmaid". If Ferguson was their choice regardless, who are we to question it? And even he wasn't, why would they want to kill his morale with some backhanded swipe? We got our guy, full stop. And he's a good one.
