What if the Rams changed their minds as that 1999 season went on and especially after the SB win? Could they have have simply said "Hey, we changed our minds for now" or is it once the "approval is given, it's a no going back think due to merch and stuff?
I can't find any documentation one way or the other, but my guess is once the uniform change is approved the companies who make Official NFL Merchandise load up on the new stuff, making a mind-change difficult.
If someone wanted to say that they could have just burned it all and loaded up on the old stuff instead I wouldn't argue the point, because it is, of course, feasible. But my gut says the NFL wouldn't have allowed the Rams to change their mind even if they wanted to.
And to be honest, I think the Rams of 2000 wanted to distance themselves from the 'LA' colors and begin to build a following around their 'St. Louis' colors anyway. IMO they didn't even want to hang on to the Ferragamo's despite the potential marketing bonanza.
I can't argue with any of that. Of course there was no way they expected to win the SB and I agree on the distancing part. Unfortunately they designed the worst Rams uni of all time, but...at least they didn't neuter the helmet horn!!! They changed it to a whiner gold that eventually turned green after aging! lol

“Well, the color is good, I like the metallic blue,” Youngblood recently said while laughing, via NFL Journal. “The horn is terrible. It looks like a ‘C.’ When I first saw it on the logo I honestly thought it was a Charger logo.
“Now when I see it on the helmet, it just isn’t a ram horn. There is no distinct curl like a mature ram horn. I don’t know how the Rams could get that wrong. That is your symbol and it has been for what? Seventy years or more? Longer than I have been alive? It’s just not us, it’s not the Rams.”---Mr. Ram Jack Youngblood
