Shula is the biggest unknown at this point. He has all the theory but hasn't been battle tested.
He has a lot of youth to work with, not sure if that's good or bad. Much may come down to veteran leadership on that side of the ball, and with AD, Fuller & JJ all gone, I'm not sure who steps up. Jones likely, one of the new DB's possibly.
Based on nothing but my own lack of knowledge, I think we'll be seeing a more conventional 3-4 employed. More Phillips than Staley. Dare I say it, more Don Shula Killer Bees 2-4-5. I say this because it seems like offenses have figured out the Fangio and McVay likes to stay ahead of the trends. Also, our OLB's are tending towards pass rushers and less towards the 3-tool type edge that the Fangio employs.
Regarding leadership?
I see these 4, at least, stepping forward on D:
Jones
Turner
Curl
White
