It might be that McVay might want to promote his friend. TBH I would have assumed Henderson or Pleasant would have been next in line for DC. However I take comfort that we have experienced coaches to back Shula up or in worse case scenario replace him. I wasn't keen on bringing Staley back at DC but to be honest I was even less enthused about who we ended up selecting but I will have to trust McVay knows what he is doing and Les wouldn't let him just put an underqualified friend in the position.
