The objections to Aaron Donald because of his measureables were so vehement that my rubbing it in afterward seemed justified. Probably better, looking back, that I kept my mouth shut.
.

They have have been giving pause, but Mike Waufle pounded the table for Donald and it seemed to have worked.

And example of the "pundits" being wrong is Kobie Turner

he was ranked anywhere from late 3rd to UDFA with the vast majority of draft people saying 5th-6th ...

Some people here freaked out. But he was a football player and Rams, for whatever reason, liked him and took him.

I have seen enough of these to know that nothing is certain.

There have been "football players" (maybe poor measureables) that fail
There have been some who have succeeded

There are guys who poor college production and good measureables both failed and succeeded.

And the mix of guys, good college player but average measureables,

Bot the truth is, there is a higher hit rate in early rounds than late rounds.

Rounds 3-4-5 are good players with flaws.

Round 6-7 are just throwaways, if you get a good one great, if he fails, that is what was expected, few
late-rounders do all that well.

So, how do guys get in rounds 1-2?

Combination of measurables, college tape, interviews, health, scheme fit, positional value may take
a 3rd round talent and push him to 1nd and a 2nd to first.

There are people who spend a lot of time story tape, giving reports to Les and they get it wrong plenty

If Rams did take Chop, I am sure there will be a reason why that is valid. If he's not all that great
the will pass ...

At this point I trust McSnead

and what is interesting is Young was 25 yr old rookie, Chop will be 21

JimYoungblood5329April 20, 2024 09:31AM

Also, remember Chop is younger than some of the others - just 21
