Cannot blame him for the bad without giving him credit for the good.
He was able to make some great trades giving Rams a lot of picks. I just wish he'd have helped Rosenbloom
in getting the Qb situation settled.
They tried a lot of good things, some worked --- wanted to get Earl Cmapbell would wouldn't deal some picks to go that high but
Rams wanted him put wouldn't trade a 2nd time to get top top 3 .. reprotetly McKay was willing to deal
Oilers ended up getting him. They could have had Fred Dean in 1981 but they were wary of him in a few ways.
He was part of getting Rosenbloom's wish -- Namath.
Also was not able to talk Rosenbloom out of George Allen II - wish he'd have been able to convince the old man to hire Bill Walsh
