former safety with just great size and athleticism for the position, but should be able to cover.
develop his pass rush skills and he's a beast. for the low low price of a third rounder
not having to protect corners will help a great deal. Rams had decision to make with having
to cut salaries -- -and when they unloaded CB and didn't sign expensive edge it was an issue
So, "gone" calls for OLBer is to protect CBs and teams would see that an counter it with
putting 2nd TE in slot. Rams blitzed about league average, about 3% less than Chiefs,
many teams in the 27-35% range with 3 teams above 40--NYG, TB and Min
But Rams in top 3 in simulated pressure .. showing blitzes and then pulling back... and
tried to get a rush through 4-man DL stunts.
All to make sure Kendrick wasn't exposed to much and Spoon to lesser degree.
So, while coverage is important for OLB -- a must, even, White and Williams
should cut the need for "gone" calls for OLbers when they are out of the box
and in the slot.
I don;t know anything about the guy you mention but will look him up. Sounds interesting.
Ellis of Utah sounds interesting, too. Smaller -- like a Leonard Floyd-type ... might also be a fit
maybe 2nd round if Rams do DT or WR or whoever in round 1.
