In an ideal world the QB2 runs the scout team every week and never sees the field in an actual game.
In the role of scout QB the QB2 has to simulate what that week's opposing QB does so the defense can prepare for the game. I would bet that JG is significantly more capable of filling that scout QB role for the Rams than Wentz could ever be.
Why? Wentz can run, which would help the Ram defense prepare for that type of QB. In the Ram's division alone, Purdy has proven he can extend plays, Murray can also run, whereas the Seahawks in Geno Smith is more stationary, but overall, I believe Wentz offers something with his ability to run to actually better prepare a Ram defense.
