CB's can switch to safety easier than a safety can switch to CB?
.
Yes, I think guys who start as safeties are the ones would cannot play CB in NFL. And when a CB gets older, he can play safety

IMHO....CB's have one or the toughest jobs in football regardless of man or zone. In fact I'd rather bump and run off the LOS than sit cack 7 yds and give a WR/TE free release.....I just would rather press a WR and get my hands on him.....But then again, Defenses are nowhere near the same from the 80's when I played than they are right now in the year 2024......The CB's job is much different today that's for sure.
that's right. It's not like NFL coaches don't know what works and what doesn't. But if you bump a WR -- and therefore are close to him --- what if there is a rub route with the slot WR, Cooper Kupp goes out and Puka goes in? You're bumping Puka and you've prevented the other guy to stay with Puka.
There are lots of man-beaters. Offensive coaches are not going to let you bump and run.
