The question was about whether the Ram should restructure Noteboom to reduce his 2024 cap hit or not.
I showed how the Rams could restructure Boom if they wanted to, and then recommended against doing that for the reasons I stated. Specifically, even if they restructured him they would still be paying him $15M for the season.
But the Rams can cut him outright. If they do that before March 18 they avoid paying him anything for this season since neither his roster bonus nor his salary is guaranteed. His 2024 cap hit in that case would drop from $20M to $15M.
$20M cap hit under the current terms: $5M pro rated signing bonus + $5M roster bonus + $10M salary
$15M cap hit if he is cut: his $5M pro rated signing bonuses from '24, '25, and '26 all come due this year.
