Wentz is a typical Rams reclamation project. High first round traits that didn't produce as expected but under the Ram's environment might flourish. Yes Wentz had issues as a starting QB might not be a leader of men over a season but as a backup he need not lead just be there and produce. The reason I am favor Wentz over most possible backup qb's is that he has a talent level comparable to Stafford's but also offers something Stafford doesn't that the Ram's can get an immediate return on besides a very beyond serviceable backup. Wentz ability to run the ball offers the Rams an additional weapon even when we have a healthy Stafford on a particular week. In the red zone having Wentz at QB with the run pass option or in short yardage would be a weapon to be utilized every week. His ability to sub in when Matthew is injured plus provide value even when he isn't makes Wentz a superior option at backup qb. Who cares what a backup QB's personality quirks are he isn't the leader of the team and who knows after watching Stafford do it right, and Matthew does it right a few years maybe Wentz will be starting QB material after a few years.
