Goff is doing the same things in Detroit that he was in 2017 and 2018 with the Rams. In those years he was surrounded by an all world run game and weapons galore at receiver. He has that exact thing right now. In 2017 2018 Goff would get rid of the ball quickly most to his first read and when he had to go elsewhere he would get in trouble. That is still the case in Detroit. Despite him having an even better oline. Goff is not one to hold the ball and read. If the play call is to St Brown that’s where he’s going most of the time. Also Detroit like the Rams run the ball like nobody’s business. And because of that they are a play action pass machine. Like when he was witch the Rams and the article mentions the Lions do not have a very good drop back and pass passing game. They don’t do that very well. For example the Rams can do that and have.
My good friend Saguaro who is a huge Goff fan says he doesn’t believe the Lions match up well with the 9ers and feels like if they fall behind that their passing game is not up to the task
I know that has been the case in past with Goff with the Rams and during his time in Detroit but if Goff is ever going to kick the door down there are going to be games in which the Lions don’t run the ball well but he can’t just fall apart. That to say, despite the Lions having to get out of play action that he still leads them to victory
I for one would like to see him do that tomorrow. We will see
Or heck maybe the Lions run the ball like the Packers did and he functions just fine within their offense. That he plays with a lead. He still will need to make a few plays to get them over the top
Think of the 2018 NFCCG in NO - Now he hasn’t done that often but he has done it before. No better time that tomorrow (for him anyhow if not all Ram fans)
