The Hoecht dibacle is why I can't endorse Morris as DC. LDE would've been a much better position for Hoecht
who on this gutted roster would you have put in the positing that Hoecht played? I admit he wasn't good at it but it is sort of like the Tominson situation, our corners are sucking why isn't Tomlinson playing? Maybe because he is sucking worse. Hoecht as miscast as he was, was probably our best option as sad as that sounds. A defense that is forced to play him out of position that still gets to the playoffs is a coaching miracle NOT a coaching mistake.
Why not put in Hoechts backup Keir Thomas? The position should.ve been addressed in the offseason or TC. It was the Coaches decision to play Hoecht at SLB so that falls on him. I heard many announcers critique Hoecht playing that position. The guy has no coverage skills and his lack of change of direction was pretty apparent.
