Morris was getting a ton of props during that Super Bowl run and still only got one Rooney Rule job offer. Maybe having 3 hof'ers to work with kinda devalued what he accomplished that year. Were those HOF'ers the ones who made the defense or Morris who made them?
To me, what Morris has done THIS year has been far more impressive than what he did that SB year! Not sure how much the staff additions helped this year but Morris still called the games so he has to get the credit too.
I hope Morris does get another legit offer and gets another chance to be a HC. He seems like a very smart dude and well liked by his players too. I honestly think he deserves that chance. I just wish I knew why all those owners have disagreed for the last 14 years.
Keep in mind that Morris was the interim Head Coach in 2020 for the Falcons. What is holding owners back is his overall record as a Head Coach is 21-38. Now Dennis Allen got a gig & so did Todd Bowles, but they were promoted after the Head Coach retired or moved on. So owners do not like to hire former Head Coaches with losing records, it is hard to sell that to a fan base. A couple of games under .500 is one thing, but again, 21.38 makes it tough.
Now, next year if the Rams win a Super Bowl and the defense balls out, I believe Morris at that point would get an opportunity, however, it is possible his next opportunity might be with the Los Angeles Rams although I hope Sean McVay stays as Head Coach until he is 50.
