which team has the better coach and qb?
IMO the Rams do
I expect an offense with McVay and Stafford to not struggle goal to go especially when you have a Kyren Williams, to score TDs when you make multiple trips into the red zone, and not forget to run the ball
It’s not about being perfect it’s about what you expect from your coach who is said to be a great offensive mind.
That’s really all it is for me. I will ask you. Didn’t you expect the Rams to take that game as the Rams D stiffened? I did because McVay is supposed to be that dude. Stafford is that dude. Nacua is that dude. KW is that dude.
So for me it’s about expectations. If McVay is elite shouldn’t we expect it in a game in which the Rams failed to score a TD in three red zone trips and two goal to go situations? I mean the Lions don’t exactly have a great defense either
So again not about being perfect but it’s about setting certain standards and expectations
This was always going to be a game where perfection or very close to perfection would be needed by the winning offense, and our offense was very good except for a few key plays that decided the game. On the other side of the ball, between the two defenses one of them was very aggressive and very physical, and that had an effect on our offense particularly in the redzone. So in my opinion the biggest difference in this game was the Lions played better defense. I still expected us to overcome that and win too, but it didn't happen. But this doesn't mean I'm going to skew my perceptions around a handful of plays which were affected by a great amount of different variables.
Football's a game of inches. Ultimate team sport and all that. This means one guy other than the QB out there can screw a play up. This means the player quality on defense matters too, where we lack speed and physicality for the playoff environment. Which in turn allows a meek flag football QB in Goff to have a big game and get a playoff win over us.
You are certainly welcome to your opinion Speed. But for myself to question coaches on this staff after they got a subpar roster as far as they did is to be a tough crowd. I'm upset about this loss too, though I am actively doing my best to manage that. Not interested in lashing out but by all means continue on doing as you're doing here.
