The dude has been to 2 SB's and won one. Took a team of no names to the playoffs amid a 10 win season. Plus I hvae no reason to believe he can't get back to another SB. That's sounds pretty good to me.
I don't need a "label" to tell me how good McVay is. I have spoken out about his issues many times. They are all well known and have been discussed ad nauseam.
Are we expecting McVay to be "perfect"? Does one have to be perfect to be "elite"? IMO, there isn't one single coach out there who is perfect so maybe there are no "elite" coaches in the entire NFL? Even Andy Reid got ran out of Philly for similar things like McVay ie; not running the ball, being pass happy and poor time out management. If Andy isn't "elite", I don't know who is.
You can call McVay "elite" or any other label you want to give him. All I know is he is the BEST coach our Rams have had...ever and I am not sure it's even close.
I say give McVay a blank check to be our HC as long as he wants to be because I say he is an elite coach even with his flaws.
"Elite" is just a label...nothing more.
#HelmetHornsMatter
“Well, the color is good, I like the metallic blue,” Youngblood recently said while laughing, via NFL Journal. “The horn is terrible. It looks like a ‘C.’ When I first saw it on the logo I honestly thought it was a Charger logo.
“Now when I see it on the helmet, it just isn’t a ram horn. There is no distinct curl like a mature ram horn. I don’t know how the Rams could get that wrong. That is your symbol and it has been for what? Seventy years or more? Longer than I have been alive? It’s just not us, it’s not the Rams.”---Mr. Ram Jack Youngblood
