Rodgers still better when trailing in 4th Q or OT

Thats what’s important, not passing stats. It’s wins that count. And Rodgers is historically bad at 4th quarter winning drives.

Stafford is 6th all time
Rodgers is 28th.

Problem with counting just the gross numbers is it does not include the time either one failed. Stafford in many more games where they were trailing ... so the performance in games trailing still favors Rodgers, by a lot.




It's like saves in baseball if you count just saves a guy with 35 saves might seem like he had a better year than a guy with 21. You have to know how many blown saves there were.

Rodgers plays better in the 4the Q and OT and he plays better in 4th Q and OT when he's trailing. And when he's winning. And when games are close (leading or trailing by 3 or less.

I love Stafford but he's just not the QB Rodgers is. Rodgers is easy to hate. I get it. But Stafford didn't succeed in all the times he was behind ... he was just behind more often than Rodgers so more opportunities because Rodgers teams took leads into the 4th quarter far more often..

Now, if you want to talk about Rodgers vs Brady, then Brady > Rodgers.

Even in games where both came back from 17 or less down in 4th Q/OT Rodgers was better and in the one neither can could overcome the defecit Rodgers still better. In the non-comeback games Stafford threw more picks than TD




I just don't think Rodgers was notoriously bad at 4th QB comebacks ... he didn't get his team in holes. Of course, Stafford being behind not always his fault... he did play on bad teams. So, I am not suggesting he was bad, it's just that the 4th QB comeback needs to have a little context. That's all.

I could break it down further and further, bu 3 points (I did) or 7 points ... or 8, I didn't get that far, I just wanted to have some perspective)

it's trailing by one score or less ... in 4th Q, total, wins, losses ... again Rogers better in all, though in the wins it's close.
