Rams43
I’m fine with a reasonable contract. But define reasonable.
I do not favor a break-the-bank type contract for Dotson, much as I would love to have him for 2024 and beyond.
A reasonable offer would be something close to what he is projected to make. No low balling him with a ridiculously low offer like say $10 mil. It needs to be closer to that $17 Mil he is projected to make.
If $17 Mil is the projected amount then $15 Mil would be very reasonable IMO. I would even consider paying him the $17 Mil if that's what it takes.
I also am not in favor of a "break the bank" type offer either 43 but I bet the majority of fans would be willing to pay the $17 Mil or close to the projected amount.
The OL is not the place to be cheap IMO. Sure you might get lucky finding someone cheap to replace him but if that replacement does well then he will eventually want to be paid too.
We are an offensive oriented team and we all know McVay's offense runs better when the run game is working well and that doesn't happen with a bad OL.
We also know Stafford plays better when he is protected. A bad OL would get Stafford killed and end our season.
Now, if Dotson wants way more than the $17 mil and he gets an offer well then maybe we have to let him go and take the comp pick but I really hope they make a serious attempt at retaining him.
#HelmetHornsMatter
“Well, the color is good, I like the metallic blue,” Youngblood recently said while laughing, via NFL Journal. “The horn is terrible. It looks like a ‘C.’ When I first saw it on the logo I honestly thought it was a Charger logo.
“Now when I see it on the helmet, it just isn’t a ram horn. There is no distinct curl like a mature ram horn. I don’t know how the Rams could get that wrong. That is your symbol and it has been for what? Seventy years or more? Longer than I have been alive? It’s just not us, it’s not the Rams.”---Mr. Ram Jack Youngblood
