Although I think over all McVay has done a fine job and exceeded most people's expectations but to be the "Coach of the Year" you have to win those games that we lost by abandoning the run game, failing to suit up a quality QB2 or having a better kicker.
If we only had a better QB2, solid kicker and stuck with the run game, we would be 9-3 right now and that would almost guarantee him COY!
McVay has done a fantastic job IMO, just not COY worthy.
I'm kinda with you, but this is all premature. Let's see the season play out first. If we beat Baltimore and the 49ers and get into the playoffs, he'll deserve to have his name in the hat.
It's not how you start or the mistakes you make along the way, it's if you can learn and grow then deliver success. Too many are acting like the season is over or something, and there's still a lot of ball to play.
