Not every official has to be in on the action. Just one per crew, for just a few (maybe three) calls per game.

Those calls may or may not affect the outcome or the spread of an individula game but they might - and if they do, in a handful of the 272 regular season games per season, a lot of money - money beyond the dollars generated by the odds tweaked in house favor already.
