Is the 3rd WR thaaat much more valuable than a 2nd flexible TE (complimenting the traditional in-line TE) that can BOTH detach from the line as a large inside slot WR plus serve as an athletic FB that can run, block and catch? Helps both the run & pass game and makes the offense much less predictable, which is huge in the deception game. A slightly bigger and more athletic version of Skowronek (sp) for example. Lots of athletic pass catching TEs out there but why can so few of them block worth a lick? They do not need to compare with a large in-line TE's blocking ability per say but simply be proficient at it somewhat like Kupp & Nacua are as WRs but more-so and with some additional size and power behind those blocks.
In the past 20-25 years with the Rams, a healthy Ernie Conwell would have been a good fit. I'd love to see an alignment like that on more 1st and 2nd downs.
