You can question the call, but it doesn't excuse the throw.
Horrible, horrible decision by a veteran QB.
Stafford has a tendency to make "horrible" throws now and then. I know it, you know it and McVay knows it too.
I am not sure what was worse, the throw or the fact that McVay called an empty backfield play that deep in our own territory in the first place.
If he calls a run play or at the very least a play action pass so the defense isn't 100% sure it's pass, things might have turned out better.
IMO, we showed Pitt it was going to be a pass with the empty backfield just like we do too many other times and bad things tend to happen when we do that at the wrong time or place on the field. This was one of those times IMO.
If I am McVay, I don't call that play right there. The run game was working fine.
#HelmetHornsMatter
“Well, the color is good, I like the metallic blue,” Youngblood recently said while laughing, via NFL Journal. “The horn is terrible. It looks like a ‘C.’ When I first saw it on the logo I honestly thought it was a Charger logo.
“Now when I see it on the helmet, it just isn’t a ram horn. There is no distinct curl like a mature ram horn. I don’t know how the Rams could get that wrong. That is your symbol and it has been for what? Seventy years or more? Longer than I have been alive? It’s just not us, it’s not the Rams.”---Mr. Ram Jack Youngblood
