Just to add this: I get it. I like lots of points and lots of offense. But you’ve got to have money to make money. And my feeling is that McVay overvalues the team/coaching strategy relative to seed money/wealth and so he gets himself in these insane feed back loops that don’t go anywhere.
What is the equavilent to seed money in terms of team and coaching strategy? I don’t have an answer for that. But what he does parallels the big rollers that just think it’s their turn without any basis at all.
I can say having money to make money is having studs to implement what you do, but also having a self-awareness that you’re straining that system in an attempt at a big pay day when you’re not meeting your objectives.
